One of our favourite releases at NAB last week was the announcement of Syncbac Pro by timecode systems. This is a new accessory for the GoPro hero cameras which finally give the GoPro’s fully professional synchronised timecode across multiple devices. It even allows the GoPro’s to slave to a professional main camera.
We have so many productions that shoot with GoPro and expect it to magically synchronise with their main camera which is on record run and starts and stops continuously…The final result of this situation is an expensive addition to the budget when you have to spend many hours trying to synchronise the footage manually. This gadget (alongside a :pulse or :wave timecode master) will allow small rigs like a 4 camera in car rig to be in perfect synch the moment you get into the edit which sounds just perfect!
The additional advantage is that all of the GoPro’s can be fully controlled by the B:Link Hub software which unlocks the capability to adjust camera settings (no more over exposed footage) and record start/stop remotely – a great way to maximize a GoPro’s battery life when it’s not easily accessible.
We look forward to testing this on our upcoming productions. Visit www.syncbac.com to find out more.
